What do you want for your wedding? Do you want a small ceremony? a big party? A wedding abroad?
It is easy to get caught up in everyone else’s ideas for your day. Your family and your friends will all want to help you. Telling you about things they did for their day or suggesting ideas.
The best advice is for you two to sit down together and really think about what you both want from your day. There are always going to be some compromises, but remember that it is your wedding and special day. Not everyone else’s.
Do not doubt what you want, or second guess your ideas. Go with what you feel is right for you two as partners.
Go to all the wedding fairs, and visit as many venues as you can. Make a note of things you love and things you hate. Having these lists can really help you start to mold your wedding.
Look at Pinterest and see the decorations people have used, again make a note of the things you love.
Create a scrapbook so you can go through the options with your partner.
When you’re looking at hiring suppliers, look to find the ones that really get you as a couple. You will know who they are. The ones that align with your wedding ideas.
Take time to enjoy this moment with your partner. It is so important you make most of the decisions together, without having all the other people involved.
Always come back and remember that it’s Your Wedding, Your Day. You will never please everyone but you can love every minute of your special day.
