Extra seats for the ceremony

For some reason at the ceremony people often don’t naturally sit together.  It is advised you add about 20 more chairs than you need to allow for this on the day.

A DO NOT Play List for the DJ

Not only do you need to plan the first dance and the father daughter dance.  But it is also a great idea to hand the DJ a Do-Not-Play list.  If there are songs you just can’t stand, make sure they can’t be played.  Even more so if you know your friends (or partners friends) will ask for it.

What Time the Sun Will Set

The golden hour can be a beautiful time to have some amazing couple photography captured.  But if the sun is setting when your sitting down for your meal.  Or when you have planned to do the first dance.  Then you won’t get a chance to capture these.  It is worth noting what time sunset is and working around your timings, if they are images you want.

Point of contact on the day

It is a great idea to have a point of contact for suppliers that isn’t you.  It’s going to be a whirlwind of a day and you may not be able to always answer your phone.  Choose someone who can be contacted during the day, so you can relax and enjoy.

Next day or after reception Transportation

You have planned the transport to get to your venue.  That was high up on your list.  But many couples forget to think about the next day.  How are you getting back home from the venue if you are staying?

If you are not staying then how are you getting back from the venue in the evening?  Don’t leave it to call a taxi at 1am… make sure you have it pre-booked and waiting.

Vendor overtime

Double check with vendors if they can stay longer on the day if requested and how much the cost would be.

Although you have decided on the timings, if anything was to run over or behind you may want the band to stay longer if the venue is running behind.  Ensuring the guests have entertainment.  Or maybe at night you want the Dj to stay and play an extra half an hour.

Knowing ahead of time the costs and if its possible will save any stress on the day and worry about extra money afterwards.
