The Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh Wedding
Corinne & Samee are from New York and moved to live in the city centre of Edinburgh for their careers in banking. They adore books and instantly fell in love with the elegant Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh building. The RCP venue has a stunning library where the ceremony takes place. The venue is located on Queen Street, just around the corner from where Corinne and Samee live. They looked no further after finding their perfect place. And had their ceremony, drinks reception, meal and dancing all within the library walls of this unique historic building.

The wedding
Corinne got ready with her family and best friends from New York, who all flew in to celebrate with these two. They got ready at the Balmoral Hotel on Princess Street, one of Edinburgh’s most well-known and prestigious hotels. There were beautiful baby blue PJs worn by her girls. Corinne had the same but in pink and they were so effective with their frilly sleeves.
Melanie from MHM styling was on the girl’s hair and the lovely Selena Jack looked after the girl’s makeup.
Samee and the guys got ready at their trendy, city centre flat, just off of Queen Street. There was some Whiskey enjoyed with his New York buddies, all looking very dapper in their black tuxes.
Corinne and Samee had Lyndsay Borthwick from LB Weddings and Events as their coordinator and all-round confidante on the day. Lyndsay has such great style and taste but is also the loveliest person. There is no one better to organise your day and be with you making sure everything runs smoothly! She also did all the table set up and decoration in the venue, she is a true diamond! If you haven’t got a wedding coordinator sorted then she is your gal! Lyndsay brought in all of the other suppliers for Corinne and Samee so they were well looked after with the best. Little Botanica on flowers, which were all over the College where people would see them were unbelievable, and so pretty!
They also had Andrew Scott, (a really tall Scotsman with a deep voice) to marry them. He always brings love and some fun to the ceremony.
There were laughter, tears and some lovely moments where both mums joined them down the aisle to give their blessings and embrace.
Beautiful music played from the string quartet at the entrance, singing their register and exiting as man and wife. One of my highlights of the day was after their beautiful ceremony they stopped on their own accord halfway down the aisle for a proper kiss! A lovely moment, I think it’s quite an American thing to do as I, unfortunately, don’t get enough couples doing that on their aisle exit.
The Americans sure know how to party and after some lovely drinks, canapes and photos in Queen Street Gardens. They then got the party started!
With Espresso Martinis in the library for all to enjoy and when Funk Nation band came on there was no stopping them! I desperately wanted to capture an image of Corinne & Samee looking at their elegant sleeves in the Library before the evening was up. This was the reason they chose this venue, so it was special to them. So we sneaked off just before the dancing and boy did I love the shot I captured! The cake was by the fantastic Nicola from Ruby & Pearl Cake Art. Who never disappoints and always wows her couples with the most gorgeous cake designs and colour palettes!
I loved Corinne & Samee’s day at the Royal College of Physicians on Queen Street, Edinburgh and can’t wait for my next wedding in this stunning venue.
Each time I shoot a wedding here it looks different with the setup and decoration to suit each couple but each time it blows me away with its beauty.

The Venue
The Royal College of Physicians is a little hidden gem in the centre of Edinburgh. For more than 300 years, the College has remained at the forefront of medical advancements and committed to supporting physicians worldwide and improving patient care. Choosing the College for your wedding directly helps educate doctors across the UK and internationally. The college is the perfect place to marry as it’s close to beautiful sights around the city centre. These are perfect to use as a backdrop for your photos. It also comes with access with a key to Queen Street Gardens to use this area for a little quiet time and photo opportunity.
It’s so lovely to get the best of both worlds on your day, the city centre vibe and also the lush green walks around the gardens and views of hills and the sea.
