What are the Maid of Honour Duties?
The Maid of Honour’s Duties can be a rather long list but this blog post is here to help!
When you choose your Maid of Honour it is a great idea to sit down and talk to her about what it means and the responsibilities.
Leading the Bridesmaids
Not only on the day down the isle but also in the lead-up to the wedding day itself.
The Maid-of-Honour is the person the bridesmaids can come to with anything. They are also the ones to give then bridesmaids their responsibilities on and before the day.
Planning the hen do
This one falls on the Maid of Honour. The bridesmaids will be there to help but the Maid of Honour kick-starts it all. They sort it, create Message Groups and organise the activities.
They can delegate to the bridesmaids depending on the strengths and weaknesses of the bridal party. So everyone feels involved.
Hold the brides bouquet
The Maid of Honour will be in charge of the Bride’s Bouquet throughout the day.
This often starts at the ceremony where the flowers will be handed to the Maid of Honour at the beginning.
But will continue throughout the day (usually until the wedding breakfast or when the photography is finished).
Round up family and friends for the group images
This job often falls on the Maid of Honour and the Best Man. To search and bring the people needed for the group pictures if they have disappeared.
It makes the group photography run smoother on the day with the extra hands to get people.
A few more....
*Wedding dress shopping
*Emotional Support for the bride
*Looking after the Brides handbag
*Keeping tissues and having a wedding survival kit on them.
This should give you a good idea of the Maid of Honour Duties both in the run-up and on the day of the wedding. Want to know more about what the bridesmaids do? Visit this blog post
